Based on the pulp novel by author Barry Gifford, WILD AT HEART follows Sailor Ripley and Lula Pace Fortune, a young couple of outcasts who leave their hometown of Cape Fear, North Carolina, and strike out on their own. This “road movie” is a journey into the supernatural and the violent, bringing to light the dark side of America and the open road.
Adapted for the screen and directed by master director David Lynch (TWIN PEAKS, BLUE VELVET, ERASERHEAD) and starring prime-era Nicolas Cage and Laura Dern, this film is one of Lynch’s finest efforts, earning him the prestigious Palme d’Or at the Cannes. With a supporting cast of some of the greatest character actors of the 1980s and ‘90s (Harry Dean Stanton, Willem Dafoe, Crispin Glover, Grace Zabriskie).
