Korean Vengeance-fest I SAW THE DEVIL Now Playing at Ritz!

I SAW THE DEVIL
Now Playing at the Ritz

I SAW THE DEVIL is a shockingly violent and stunningly accomplished tale of murder and revenge from Korean genre master Kim Jee-woon (THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE WEIRD and A TALE OF TWO SISTERS). OLDBOY's Choi Min-sik plays Kyung-chul, a dangerous psychopath who kills for pleasure. The embodiment of pure evil, he has committed horrifying and senselessly cruel serial murders on defenseless victims, successfully eluding capture by the police.

On a freezing, snowy night, his latest victim is the beautiful Ju-yeon, daughter of a retired police chief and pregnant fiancée of elite special agent Dae-hoon (THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE WEIRD's Lee Byung-hyun). Obsessed with revenge, Dae-hoon decides to track down the murderer, even if doing so means becoming a monster himself. And when he finds Kyung-chul, turning him in to the authorities is the last thing on his mind.

The lines between good and evil fall away in this diabolically twisted game of cat and mouse. Pushing the concept of revenge to its most extreme limits, Kim Jee-woon brilliantly transcends the police procedural and serial killer genres in surprising and thrilling new ways.

Alamo Iron Chef: Barry Lyndon

Alamo Iron Chef:
Barry Lyndon
Thursday 3/24, 7:30pm @Lamar

Advance tickets available here

This Thursday, we will present the latest installment of our long running Alamo Iron Chef competition, in which our chefs face off against their kitchen counterparts from Austin’s finest restaurants. Each chef prepares a meal of half-courses. At the end they are judged by a panel of experts and a winner is crowned by our own Chairman Kaga, Alamo founder and CEO Tim League. We never know which chef will emerge victorious but we can be certain that the audience will win every time.

This time, our chefs led by Chief Executive Chef John Bullington will face off against the highly acclaimed Julio-Cesar Florez Zaplana of La Sombra. It will be an epic battle. Are you ready for it?

Atanley Kubrick's BARRY LYNDON presents the story of 18th century Irish adventurer Redmond Barry, and his rise and fall within the aristocracy of the United Kingdom. Shot gorgeously and with a cast full of the greatest character actors of the 1970s, LYNDON is a period piece without match. Roger Ebert describes it as "one of the most beautiful films ever made." That says it all.
